With Rolex not allowing merchants to sell Rolexes at true market demand. I often wonder if this isn't like the diamond market. I really wonder what a Rolex would fetch if left to market forces(supply and demand). I am truly begining to wonder how long Rolex can sustain this marketing tack. I own a Rolex SS Sub and when you compare it to other brands, like Zenith, Audeumars, Brequet, Patek, Vacheron, Lange. You really wonder what is going on?
Truly, Rolex does not compete in this league, however if you spoke with Rolex you would assume that they were market leaders. Case in point, now that Zenith(LVMH) has canned Rolex and is not providing them with the internals of theie world renowned Daytona. Which I have heard is hardly breathtaking. Rolex like the inflated markets of the late 90's will fall. The P/E makes no sense!!
