The majority of players are drawn to spending their highest successful Faceting attempt percentages on whichever they feel is the blue line that they care the most about. They also spend their middle-of-the-road chances (45 -55 percent) on the blue line, and spend their lowest odds of success (0 to the 35-percent mark) on the red bottom line.     Because Ability Stones are given out in a steady manner, players may notice they have a whole pile of them before they know it, and that they can actually place these stones for auction on Auction House (not in the Market). But it is to be said that once a Stone is even the subject of a Faceting Attempt then it's no longer tradable and can't be sold in the Auction House. It is contingent on the state of the market selling these Stones can be incredibly profitable for the purpose of obtaining huge amounts of gold in one go.  

The obvious incentive for a game is to take down the Stones with useless Engravings and use that dust in the Ability Stone Cutter to make new randomized Stones, but that isn't the most effective way to use them all. Keep in mind that Ability Stones are able to be extremely helpful or unhelpful depending on how Faceting Attempts go, and people will actually pay a substantial amount of gold (especially the players who are paid to win) to have the best opportunities, even at smaller levels of items. They're more volatile when it comes to the rise and fall of their selling price, especially when compared to consumables, but they're still worth buying.
