There should be three positions when pulling the crown if it unscrews.
Unscrew: In this position, you can wind the watch
Pull slightly: You can set the day and date.
Pull again to the furthest position: Now you can set the time.
If the crown does not screw out, then the positions are the same as above, just starting when the crown is against the case.

DO NOT SET THE DATE BETWEEN 8PM AND 1AM ON THE WATCH. THE GEARS ARE ENGAGED AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

Move the time forward until the date changes and move to 3am. Set the date accordingly and then move the time forward to the correct position.
