Keep in mind that just because the watch is new does not mean the battery is. It is very typical for a watch to sit at the factory/distributor/retailer until it is sold for some time. It also depends on which battery was placed in the watch such as a 1, 2 or 5 year battery. It is more annoying than anything, but should be perfect after service. How long did they quote you? Make sure it is an authorized service center so the warranty holds up and they seal it properly to ensure it is water resistant once again.
