I sent a watch up for repair to Breitling USA. It is a limited ed. Rattrapante in platinum. The only problem appered to be a hand that was a little bent and would reset to the 59 second position. The movement worked fine for me. I contacted them before sending it and the service gentleman I spoke with said he could repair it. After they recieved the watch they notified me that all precious metal watches need to go to Switzerland. So they sent it to Switzerland and two weeks later I recieved an invoice for $1200 for an overhaul. I haven't authorized the work. Frankly, I was floored by the price. Any thoughts on the this? I know they had another Rattrapante watch that sold for about $2k and I doubt someone would expect to pay $1200 for an overhaul. Is this just because the case is platinum. I'm asking for thoughts and suggestions before I reply to them - Thanks
