My concern when inking in the depressed lines/numerals on the bezel was not the permanency of the ink (since a slight touch-up takes a few seconds) but being able to remove the excess ink without permenantly staining the bezel black. The bezel comes with a brushed matte finish and the ink REALLY adheres to it, unlike shiny stainless surfaces, from which the ink easily wipes clean. Fortunately, I was able to remove the excess ink with some brisk Q-tip rubbing! By the way, I did experiment with the brush finish on the inner surface of the band first. It worked well, and I proceeded to complete the job with confidence.
